Teletherapy (Online Therapy)

iThrive Therapy Alaska is a technology supported company that uses video conferencing to support clients. Being able to access mental health care online is convenient and easy. Because iThrive Therapy Alaska is technology supported, it can reach people across the state of Alaska and in rural areas where mental health care may be less accessible.

Research shows that Teletherapy or Online Therapy is just as effective as in person counseling. The added benefits are it limits travel, especially when weather is poor. It can be done from the comfort of your home or some people go to their car on their lunch break. All you need is a safe, quiet space.

I offer Teletherapy via an online video platform. This is a HIPAA compliant video conference platform where you are sent a link to join the session.  This can be accessed through phones, tablets or computers.  It is important you join Tele-sessions from a private location to maintain your safety and confidentiality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I accept Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska and BCBS Federal Employee Program. I am not able to accept any other insurances (this includes Providence, Tricare, Medicare or Medicaid). I encourage you to check with your insurance provider to ensure Telehealth visits are covered on your plan. Copays are due at the time of service.

What is your rate?

If you choose to pay out of pocket for services, which means you either don't have insurance or choose not to use it, my rate for a 50 minute session is $200. Payment is due at the time of service. If I am an not in network with your insurance company, I am able to provide a Superbill.

Are all services provided virtually or in the office?

All sessions are offered online via a Telehealth HIPAA compliant platform.

How does this work?

If you are interested in setting up an appointment, give me a call or send an email. I will connect with you briefly to ask a few questions and see how I can help. If we decide to move forward with our first appointment, I will send you a portal link to fill out paperwork prior to our first session. I will also send a link to our first appointment. Copays are due at the time of service via Credit/Check Card. If you are unable to make an appointment, I require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or change appointments in order to avoid any late cancellation fees.

Do you treat children, adolescents, young adults? Do you do Family Therapy?

While I have an extensive background treating children, adolescents and families, I currently only offer individual therapy to adults. I am not taking children/adolescents under the age of 18. I do not offer family therapy. I specialize in working with young adults and adult women.

Do you see couples?

While relationships with others and our roles in relationships are often discussed in sessions, I do not see couples or do couples therapy. I offer individual therapy to adults.

I am struggling with alcohol and/or substance use, can you help?

While I have experience working with people who are wanting to cut back on alcohol or substance use, I do not treat substance use as a primary concern or primary diagnosis. If you are wanting your treatment to focus on addiction and cutting back, please seek an addiction/substance abuse specialist. I'm the right fit for you if you are primarily struggling with anxiety, depression or trauma and are wondering how using substances fits into your patterns of behavior and you would like to learn some alternative tools to cope.

No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services. While this information is also outlined in my consent documentation that is signed by clients prior to treatment, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. Your provider should give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your service or item. You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling a service or item with a medical provider. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For more information or any questions about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
