About Kristen McFee, MA, LPC, LPCC, LMHC

If You Feel Stuck, I’m Here to Help.

I am a caring and compassionate person. I love to support and help others. My goal is to create meaningful change though understanding and accessing deeper regions of the brain. It’s not always easy to lean into discomfort or be vulnerable. I create an environment where my clients can grow, tell their story and rewrite their narrative.

I have over 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, women and adults in a variety of settings. I utilize a strength-based approach and believe each person is unique and deserves unconditional, positive regard. I work with people who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning concerns (ADHD) self-esteem issues, grief and loss, identity concerns, life transition concerns and women’s issues.

My Approach

I am consistently working to access new brain research and cutting edge therapeutic modalities to support my clients in finding rapid healing and effective change.

While I believe talk therapy, processing belief systems and discussing patterns of behavior are important, I am also trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities. This includes being a Certified Brainspotting Therapist, along with being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).

I also have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Collaborative Problem Solving, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Parts work, Sandplay, Rites of Passage framework, Horticultural Therapy, and a Whole Person Wellness approach. Everyone is unique and I want to support you in the way that feels the most helpful.

My Background

My background is in working with children, adolescents, families, young adults and adults. I have worked in the following settings: acute hospital care, day treatment (elementary, middle school and high school), school-based therapy, residential, wilderness residential, eating disorder clinics, outpatient clinics and online therapy. I have experience leading psychoeducational classes, leading both skills groups and group therapy along with doing individual and family therapy. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, young adults and women. Right now, I only work with women/adults.
